FRESHRADIOVYBZ – Rachel Ritfeld was born in Suriname, South America and is of mixed Indian and Black Caribbean heritage. She moved to Belgium at age 10 with her mother who worked for the Surinamese Embassy in Brussels. It was here, that a model scout who signed her at age 15, scouted Rachel on the streets of Brussels. Rachel was instantly in love with the catwalk.

Keen to get an education, she moved to Brighton in England at age 17 to go to University where she majored in Social Anthropology at the University of Sussex. Throughout university, she went up and down to London for model bookings but it wasn’t until she graduated at age 20, that she decided to pursue a full time career in fashion and entertainment business.

“After studying I just wanted to travel the world and then I booked a job in Jamaica, followed by one in Antigua, then Ghana … I soon realized that modeling was the path to travel”

local scene radio show host Paul A. Peart aka ‘Gadiethz’ is very disturbed that the Queen is receiving a pay increase for ‘no reason Sun, 16 Jul 2017 20:10:16 +0000 ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – She may be well past the age of retirement, at 91, but Her Majesty The Queen, Elizabeth II, is still on the job and is about to receive an 8 percent pay increase.

According to the BBC, Her Majesty is set to receive an 8 percent pay increase from public funds after the Crown Estate’s profits increased by £24 million ($40.4 million).

And according to the Huffington Post, once added to her existing income, the Queen will bring in more than £82 million ($138 million) by the end of 2017.

he money is being perfectly redirected. “What the Queen does and represents for this country, I believe it represents excellent value for money,” he told the BBC.

Public pissed

But the UK public disagrees. After the announcement was made, many took to Twitter to voice their anger and disappointment on the matter.

A Scott Nelson tweeted: “The Queen is set for a mammoth £40million pay rise, while nurses, firefighters and soldiers get a paltry 1%.”

A Jason Spacey wrote: “I bet the people moaning about the Queen getting a £6m pay rise have never tried waving at people from a gold carriage.”

A Michael tweeted: We pay £150k for Prince Charles flights and £82 mn to the Queen to ‘upgrade’ her home. Meanwhile disabled people crowdfund for wheelchairs…”

A Brenna tweeted: “As part of the UK we pool and share resources like next year the queen gets 82 million pounds & poor people get screwed.”

It was recalled too that in November 2016, The Guardian revealed Her Majesty received a 66 per cent pay raise to fund the £369 million ($621.6 million) refurbishment and repair of Buckingham Palace. The palace, which was said to be at a risk of “catastrophic building failure,” requires 10 years’ worth of work.

Heartbreaking situation- ‘Gadiethz’

Today, June 27, 2017, Paul A. Peart aka ‘Gadiethz’, host of the International Morning Ride Show on ZROD 103.7 FM, was at a loss as to why Her Majesty The Queen will be receiving a £6 million pay increase.

Mr Peart declared that the situation is very heart breaking and he is not in favour of the increase at all. “Who authorized this pay increase for the Queen?”

According to Mr Peart, “We are here in the midst of water and we are thirsty. I asked my boss for a pay increase couple years well and I can’t get it as yet. I have been saying that business places have been making a lot of money off of what I talk and so forth but look, the Queen has gotten a pay increase.”

He added that the United Kingdom has been advising the Territory’s leaders to curve their spending but on the other hand, they are significantly increasing the Queen’s pay.

Where is the money coming from?

As the talk show host continued on the subject, he pointed out that the Queen’s official net expenditure increased by 2 million pounds for just last year alone.

“Right now she is getting 42 million pounds. Now this is not a joke thing people. I think that this Queen is reaping in a lot of money from these foreign Overseas Territories and these so called Commonwealth and nobody can see the Queen’s paper work,” noted Mr Peart.

Radio talk show host Paul ‘Gadiethz’ Peart questions whether some people really want to stop the crime in the VI Sat, 15 Jul 2017 15:58:44 +0000 ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The host of the International Morning Ride Show, Paul A. Peart aka ‘Gadiethz’, has expressed his disappointment with the minimal support from the Virgin Islands community at the Stop the Crime Concert held on June 16, 2017.

Approximately 100 persons, mostly musicians and artistes, attended the Stop the Crime Concert at Tortola Pier Park on Wickham’s Cay I.

During the International Morning Ride Show on ZROD 103.7 FM on Monday June 19, 2017, Mr Peart was at a loss as to why the community did not respond to the initiative when it had received full support from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force and other organisations.

“We want to know what did not connect. What went wrong? The establishment of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force was fully, fully on board, the Lions Club was on board, several artistes from the neck of the woods were on board, but yet still the turn out that we were looking for and the support that we were hoping to garner, I don’t think it was fully, fully taken.”

Mr Peart questioned, “When people are saying ‘Stop the Crime’, do they really want to stop the crime? He further commented that some members of the public believe that the people who are pushing the initiative, don’t really know about crime.

“Maybe the crime machine has broken down so criminals are free to live among us,” remarked a disappointed Mr Peart.

The talk show host stated that Virgin Islanders cannot stop crime by just stating that they are going to stop crime, adding that the VI needs every single hand on board in order to stop crime.

‘Hypocrisy has to stop’

Looking at what may be some of the contributors to crime, Mr Peart said he could not understand why there is no assistance for a young person in the community who wishes to start up his or her own business.

He further stated that he has seen persons from other countries enter the Territory and build four or five houses with no problem.

“This sort of hypocrisy has to stop.”

He continued, “Crime breed because we neglect our responsibility and we say God is going to fix it. Leave it to God it is going to work out.”

The radio show host noted that since the Commissioner of Police Michael Matthews and Government are pledging to play their part, the community must come together and play their part in stopping the crime as well.

“We have already had six murders. Let me see if it’s going to take six months to get any clue. Let us see if it is going to take six years to get any clue as to who these murderers are.”

I was born on a bright sunny day in November in Greater Port more, Jamaica. I went to the Spanish Town Primary School. I studied Computer Science at the Aronox Business College in Montego Bay, Jamaica and UWI-BVI. I grew up with my mom, four sisters and one brother. Being the first child in the family I always had to be the one responsible for looking out for my siblings. I must say it was fun growing up with them! We are a close knit family and to this day I love them the same and continue to look out for them even if they are all gown and have their own lives.
My name is Paul Peart, a lover of music. In the business and entertainment world, I am known as Gadiethz. Presently I reside on Tortola, British Virgin Islands. Growing up as a kid I realized that I had a great passion for music. I say with no reservations at that “Music is my Life I love music in any form. My enthusiasm for the love of music led me to many special achievements and opportunities to grow in the art Gadiethz, the singer/songwriter/producer continues to aspire in the music arena from singing my favorite High School songs to writing my own songs. My style of writing could be said to be eccentric I stack words into columns that read from right to left.
Some of my many achievements include the release of my single, “Nookie Tonight which made number one on the ZROD Top 7 at at the time of its release. I have had the great opportunity to open shows for Beres  Hammond, Buju Banton and Tony Rebel while working the Cayman Islands. My greatest event was performing at Sting 97, a popular dancehall show in Jamaica. Before moving to the BVI, I also hosted a local Cable TV Jamaican show called Yard Beat.
Presently I work with ZROD FM Radio Station as the Producer and creator of The International Morning Ride Show and Sales and Marketing Manager, as well as I continue to do some on-air programming, more specifically the Saturday Night Strictly Reggae Show, a show which incidentally is linked to radio stations in New York, Atlanta and the USVI. I am also the host on the Sunday Night Karaoke at Calypso Cafe Bar and Grill. Most of you may have seen or heard me as the host of many local shows held in the BVI, as well as during the BVI Music Fest and the August Festival Celebrations.
Life to me means family and friends you can trust and who trusts you. I am a happy person and I love life, but like everything else there are days that may seem a little less on the up side. I do have some friends who I can depend on and who look out for me.
I view education as a necessity in life if anybody wants to be successful in any project. It provides you with a foundation to revert to should your aspirations and goals in life do not work out at any one time. Besides working in the music field, which is my first passion, I have also worked as a hair stylist/barber, all of which form part and parcel of the music and entertainment industry.
At the end of it all I love music, it in my soul – theres a rhythm inside of me thats always beating, chanting, humming, playing all the time. I am Paul Gadiethz Peart and music is my passion!

Sat, 15 Jul 2017 14:55:16 +0000 ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Acting Chief Immigration Officer, Mrs Geraldine Ritter-Freeman dropped a bombshell this morning July 10, 2017 while appearing on the International Morning Ride Show with Paul A. Peart aka ‘Gadiethz’.

Mrs Ritter-Freeman, who was appointed to act in the post of Chief Immigration Officer last year, was at the time answering questions about the statistics of Virgin Islanders verses non-nationals on ZROD 103.7 FM.

‘Not born here’-Ritter-Freeman

When asked about the number of expats in the Virgin Islands as opposed to locals she said you always hear about the number 60-40 meaning 60% expats and 40% locals “someone like myself, I have Belonger status, I was not born in the Virgin Islands, therefore I will be lumped into the pool of an expat, as opposed to someone who born here….but I will like to think of myself as a BVIslander…”

Mrs Ritter-Freeman has acquired her Belonger status from her parents, however, the officer who is at the helm of advising the Premier on immigration polices did not disclose where she was born.

Meanwhile, the Acting Chief Immigration Officer sought to clarify that when persons visit the Territory they can get up to a six months stay in keeping with other Caribbean Community countries, however, this is not automatic.

You can get 6 months but….

She said “when you come to the ports of entry you are given one month but you can get up to six months through the Processing Unit at the Immigration Department, so it’s still akin to what’s happening in the region…”

Mrs Ritter-Freeman also explained the conditional permit. This is where persons who have been working in the Virgin Islands (VI) for over 5 years and have lost their jobs can remain in the VI and seek new employment or change jobs after paying  a fee of $250.00 for a conditional permit, but is given 90 days to find a new job.

However, if the 90 days has expired and persons did not find new employment then they have to leave the Territory, according to Ritter-Freeman. “Once that 90 days expired again your entry permit becomes null and void so you need to leave the Territory, until you get another employment opportunity.”

The Immigration Department falls under the Premier’s Office and Dr The Honourable D. Orlando Smith (AL) is the Minister of Immigration.
